St. Regis’ commitment to the international sport of polo dates back to the early 20th century when St. Regis and polo became part of the New York social scene.  The Astor family, who founded The St. Regis hotel in New York in 1904, used to host afternoon teas and suppers at and after polo matches on Governors Island in New York.  In recent years St. Regis has supported polo around the world, in addition to hosting the international test matches at Cowdray Park for the last four years. “Polo has long been a fixture in the calendars of the worldly and well-lived, and we are looking forward to offering St. Regis guests and spectators the opportunity to experience this exhilarating sport at the 5th annual St. Regis International Cup,” says Paul James, Global Brand Leader for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.
