FOOTBALLING LEGEND TO HOST CHARITY POLO DAY AT BEAUFORT

Arsenal goalkeeping legend, Bob Wilson and his wife Megs are to host a charity polo day at the prestigious Beaufort Polo Club on Saturday 31st May in aid of the Willow Foundation, a charity created in memory of their daughter Anna.

A Champagne reception and three course gourmet lunch awaits guests, before they take to the stands to watch one of the worlds most exciting sports in the stunning surroundings of the Westonbirt Arboretum. After the prize giving its back to the clubhouse for a traditional English tea with the teams.

Lunch tickets cost £90 per person or £850 for a table of 10, and provide the perfect opportunity for friends to enjoy a day out or provide corporate hospitality whist raising valuable funds for charity. Visitors can also purchase a day membership ticket for just £30, giving them access to a picnic in the grounds of the club, a stand seat and afternoon tea in the clubhouse.

As well as top class polo there is also the opportunity to bid on some incredible auction lots including a Mercedes AMG driving day with a tour and lunch at the factory for 2 people, a weekend in Padstow with dinner and accommodation at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and a signed Jonny Wilkinson print.

Funds raised from the day will be used to grant quality of life and quality of time experiences for seriously ill young adults (aged 16-40) through the provision of ‘special days’. These days offer time out from treatment and allow seriously ill young adults to spend quality time with friends and family whilst pursuing an activity they all enjoy. For some, a special day is their last chance to fulfill a dream, for others it is the opportunity to return some normality back into their lives.

Bob and Megs Wilson, who will be attending the fundraiser, created the charity in 1999 in memory of their daughter:
