Harry East Memorial 2011

Grants Farm handily defeated Mr Cecils/ Homewood 12-4 in the 8 goal action today. Despite having two substitutes (Pat Nesbitt for Leigh Brecheen and Henry Walker for Andy Busch Sr) Grants Farm had no trouble spreading the scoring around and looked very strong today. Santiago Wulff led the way with 5 goals and Pat Nesbitt had a great day, scoring 4 goals for Grants Farm.

The second game between Gehache and Mansour had more ups and downs then the stock market. After a low scoring first half, Gehache scored 4 unanswered goals in the 4th and 5th chukkers to go up by 5 goals, the only bright spot for Mansour was a spectacular goal by Santiago on Wernich, on the nearside backshot from the corner that curved into goal like it was laser guided as time expired. That shot changed the momentum for Mansour, and they came storming back in the 6th chukker to tie it up on a neck shot by Benji Soleimani. In the sudden overtime period, both teams had chances but finally with 4:37 left Matt Ladin sank a penalty 2 to give Gehache the 10-9 victory.
