IPC wins Award of Excellence

2009 Business Excellence Award is Presented by Wellington Chamber of Commerce


 


Wellington, FL (March 30, 2009) – The International Polo Club Palm Beach was honored last Tuesday, March 24, with the 2009 Business Excellence Award from the Wellington Chamber of Commerce. The awarded was presented to the International Polo Club Palm Beach for its exceptional efforts in community, business and philanthropy.


John Wash, President and CEO of International Polo Club Palm Beach accepted the award by thanking the chamber for its wonderful community support. “The International Polo Club is extremely proud to be such an integral part of the equestrian community, to Wellington, and to Palm Beach County,” says Wash. “We are focused on bringing more attention to the sport and to Wellington through collaborations with local, national, and international media, through sponsorships, and most importantly by partnering with theWellington community. This is the first annual Business Excellence Award given by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce which was held at the Binks Forest Golf Club in Wellington where the golf club was also honored with Best Emerging Business.

The 105th US Open Polo Championship officially kicks off this Sunday, April 5th with eight teams playing in America’s most coveted tournament. Black Watch, lead by team captain and Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras will play the 2008 USPA Piaget Gold Cup winners, Las Monjitas at 3 P.M. in the International Polo Stadium.


International Polo Club will also be celebrating Lilly Pulitzer’s 50th Anniversary on Sunday with fashions and a retrospective display of dresses and shifts celebrating 50 years of Lilly style from their new store at the Gardens Mall. In addition will be thecustomized Lilly Jeep™ that will be showcased during the champagne divot stomp at halftime. This outfitted Jeep was designed with the whimsical patterns that made Palm Beacher, Lilly Pulitzer an international fashion icon.
