Ayala Polo Team wins the Royal Bliss Bronze Cup

 

Ayala Polo Team wins the Royal Bliss Bronze Cup after defeating Brunei Polo Team by 11 goals to 8 in the final to raise the first high goal trophy of the season in the 46th International Polo Tournament organized by Santa María Polo Club.

 

The team made up by Iñigo Zobel, Mariano González (h), Santiago Laborde and Facundo Pieres played a very good second half and achieved a good difference in the score to handle the pressure of Brunei in the last seven minutes of the match. The first half was really tough with no difference in between both teams in the actions and the score. In the fifth chukker Ayala began the “take off” on the score and started building a deserved victory.

“It´s always important to start the season winning. It was a tough match in the first half but we achieved to make a good difference in the fifth chukker that finally allowed us to win the match”.

“For the organization and team confidence to face what is coming it´s really great to begin the season lifting the first trophy. The game was really even and a bit locked until the fourth chukker but from that period onwards we could make a difference that was the key to finally achieve the victory”.

 

FCT Sotovila wins the Isolas 1892 Bronze Cup 

 

FCT Sotovila won the Isolas 1892 Bronze Cup after defeating Jolly Rogers King of Polo by 12 goals to 9 in the final held at Santa María Polo Club Puente de Hierro fields. The team made up by Roger Carlson, Carlos Piñal, Aristide Faggionato and Mario Gómez lift the first trophy of the season in this level after playing a great match against a tough opponent. Sardañola, (Ricardo Trujillo (h), Jose Trenor, Miguel Amieva and Daniel Entrecanales) achieved the Subsidiary Cup after defeating La Clarita by 6 goals to 5.

 

Medium Goal Aerolíneas Argentinas Silver Cup begins tomorrow 

 

With two attractive matches, at Los Pinos fields, the Medium Goal Silver Cup will start tomorrow. The winner of Aerolíneas Argentinas Bronze Cup, Saint Mesme will open this second trophy of the 46th International Polo Tournament against Golden Goose from 5.30 pm on field 2, followed by Brunei Polo Team vs Bardon Polo in field 1.

 

In this 46th edition of the Tournament more than 21 teams are taking part of the competition, with a large number of elite players, including four of the top 10 players in world polo ranking: Facundo Pieres, who will play with Ayala Polo Team; Juan Martín Nero (Lechuza Caracas) and Pablo MacDonough, who will stand up for Brunei and Dubai Polo Teams, and the Uruguayan David Stirling (Lechuza). 

 

Besides polo matches, attendance, that´s free during almost all the season matches, has many leisure activities available: a varied gastronomy, Shopping Village, children’s area, bars, After Polo night parties.
