St Moritz 2011– Day 3

St Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow – Day 3

France took a surprise win over Switzerland today, defeating the hosts 5-3. France’s number four Nacho Gonzalez scored four of the five goals, helping his team crush the Swiss.

In the final deciding game this afternoon, Great Britain defeated Germany by half a goal, 6½ -6. The Brits lead throughout, gradually edging ahead as each chukka progressed. It was only in the final moments of the fourth chukka when Germany managed to put some balls through the posts that they got within reaching distance of Great Britain’s score.

With the results of day three, France will meet Great Britain in the final at 2.00 PM on the frozen lake, whilst at 11.00 AM Germany and Switzerland will play for the third and fourth place.
