St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow 2012 with top-class sponsors

The world-renowned St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow will be held on the frozen Lake St. Moritz for the 28th time from 26 to 29 January 2012. The four team sponsors have now been established. They are Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Bank Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. (Switzerland) Ltd. and BMW.

With only four months to go until the start of the 28th St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow, the preparations for the four-day tournament are proceeding at full speed. An important step is the commitment of sponsors; particular significance is attached to the four team sponsors. For 2012, the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow is once again able to count on the commitment of four top-class team sponsors. With Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Bank Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. (Switzerland) Ltd. and BMW, four partners were gained who, in every way, perfectly complement the most famous polo tournament on snow worldwide. Urs E. Schwarzenbach is delighted: “We are very happy and proud that we can count on the support of such top-class partners. With their commitment, the sponsors vitally contribute to the success and reputation of the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow.”

The sponsors are proud of their commitment

The sponsors are also looking forward to the event. Hanspeter Oes, Chief Executive Officer of Bank Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. (Switzerland) Ltd. states: “We are delighted to be a team sponsor of this first-class event, the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow. Through our involvement in the tournament, we can for the first time in Switzerland demonstrate our enthusiasm for this sport, as well as our long-standing association with international polo.” Arnaud Carrez, Managing Director of Cartier Switzerland, also emphasises the tradition and uniqueness of polo: “Only one sport combines elegance, passion, tradition and universal values – qualities which Cartier has stood for during the last 164 years. This sport is polo, that most exclusive sport to which Cartier is proud to lend its name.”

The main emphasis is placed on polo

In a second step, the teams that are going to compete for their honour at the world’s most prestigious winter polo tournament on snow from 26 to 29 January 2012 are now being put together. They are the ones who, together with the unique ambience of Lake St. Moritz, hold the fascination of the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow. Bernhard Pöllinger, Head of Sports at St. Moritz Polo AG, also emphasises this: “The polo ponies and top athletes are the protagonists of the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow. Our goal for 2012 is to once again present polo games of the highest quality.”
