The China Open Continues………

The 4-8 goal section of the “Royal Salute Gold Cup 2012 China Open Polo Tournament” kicked off at the Tang Polo Club in Beijing on 7th Sep. Four teams containing players from different counties competed in the series matches, they were team Tang Polo Club, Tang Dynasty, L. D. and team India, which showcased the level of Asian polo perfectly.

The first match between Tang Polo Club and Tang Dynasty started very aggressively with the first goal coming in the first minute. Horacio Etcheverry made it 2 – 0 for Tang Dynasty and then another goal for Tang Dynasty made it 3 – 0 after the first Chukka. Tang Polo Club were not sitting back quietly and Shilai Liu scored two quick goals. But in the end after a goal by Nan Liu for Tang Dynasty they pulled through winners 4 – 2.
 
Team L. D. meet team India on the second match day, and the match was really a close one. L. D. beating team India by 8 – 7 after 4 intense chukkas. Though India lost the game at last minute of the game, they showed their perfect teamwork and made a completely fabulous game with L. D.

There were two matches on the final day of the tournament. The first one being between team India and Tang Polo Club. This was another high scoring open game, with the score after four chukka’s being 7 – 7. Tang Dynasty were next to play against L. D. Tang Dynasty fought well and ended up winning the match and the tournament. With Tang Polo Club second.

Shyam from team India won the title of “best player” and Peer was named the “best horse”.
