The Leadership & Excellence Cup 2010

The Leadership and Excellence day, which is to support the continuation and growth of Cadet Polo and celebrate the best of City Polo, hosted a spectacular day of polo at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, with three matches played at The Round ground.


In the first match of the day the Alumni team defeated the RMAS La Martina Officer Cadets 8 – 4 1/2 to win the Al Attiyah Cup.

 

The Excellence Cup, sponsored by IDG (Inspirational Developments Group), followed with a fast game between Norton Rose LLP and Lloyds of London, which ended with the victory to Norton Rose LLP 3-2.

 

Finally the highlight of the day was the 12 goal Leadership & Excellence Cup Exhibition match sponsored by Images of Polo, between Minotauro and Images of Polo teams.

 

The Images of Polo Team which was put together by Team Captain Glen Gilmore (7) (Captain of Australia) with the Australian Kelvin Johnson (4), James Scott-Hopkins (0) and Stuart Lodge (0), did not manage to break through the strategic game of Minotauro Polo Team, with Patron Paolo Garavelli (0), Team Captain Pepe Riglos (6) winning the Best Player’s Award, Mark Baldwin (2) and Glen Shriff (4). Minotauro defeated Images of Polo 5 1/2 – 4

 

Audi Colbornes UK displayed their new range of cars, of which the Audi R8 was the highlight for all spectators.

 

The day ended perfectly and was complemented by a surprise performance by the Red Arrows courtesy of the Farnborough Air show.
