15th CORUM Snow Polo World Cup – Kitzbühel 2017

15th CORUM Snow Polo World Cup – Kitzbühel 2017

The countdown has started!
Sensational opening of the winter polo season in Kitzbühel

In the middle of January the long-standing CORUM Snow Polo World Cup attracts international polo professionals and celebrities to Kitzbühel in Austria at the start of the winter polo season. Less than a month to go until six top-class polo teams will fight against each other from 12-15 January 2017 in fast-paced snow chukkas. 120 horses and 18 polo players from seven different nations. This means three days of adrenaline, speed and elegance. And not only on the playing field.

The organisers will set new standards at the polo location Kitzbühel with the huge gala party – the “Polo Player’s Night” – taking place on Saturday evening at the elegant tent at the Münichauer Wiese. However: The tickets for this event are nearly sold out, the remaining tickets are available locally and at www.kitzbuehelpolo.com

Next to the new team sponsor Maserati, Pernod-Ricard Austria with the tradition-rich Perrier-Jouët has entered the line of the sponsors as well. Founded in 1811 in the Champagne region (Èpernay, approx. 130 km northeast of Paris), Perrier-Jouët today ranks among the best and most high-class champagne in the world. A brand, which makes a statement and is in good company at the 15th CORUM Snow Polo World Cup.

Organiser Tito Gaudenzi: “In 2017 we will raise the tournament to a completely new level. In regard to sports as well as the class of the sponsors, the size and the design of the VIP tent, the exhibitors and the renowned guests we will reach a new quality and dimension of the event and we are very happy and thankful for this.”

New partners and sponsors as well as long-standing companions be there in Kitzbühel in January 2017 and present themselves to the audience. With the taking over of long lasting title sponsor Valartis Bank through the Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group Limited, the successful future of the rich in tradition Snow Polo World Cup in Kitzbühel is saved for many years. In the summer of 2018 a “green” polo tournament is planned in Kitzbühel for the very first time. The sophisticated Gamsstadt thus will be the first destination in Europe where polo is played in summer as well as in winter. The Kitzbühel Polo Club, which has just been founded, will present itself accordingly during the tournament days in January.

The Swiss watch manufacturer Corum will find its way into Kitzbühel as new team sponsor, name giver of the tournament and official time keeper. “Creativity and Dringness” are the leading motives of the brand which was founded 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland). With this philosophy the Swiss brand will of course feel very familiar and comfortable alongside the elegant, adrenalin run snow polo matches.

Interior designer Bernd Gruber from Aurach, partner of the snow polo in Kitzbühel for many years, is again pledging alliance to the white chukkas 2017. The passionate designer will feature his work at the “Bernd Gruber Maserati Lounge” right next to Maserati. Likewise the defending champions from last year Engel & Völkers, the Corestate Capital Group and the Kitzbühel Country Club join the World Cup as sponsors.

The programme of the CORUM Snow Polo World Cup Kitzbühel 2017 starts Thursday, 12th January, with the big move in of all teams in front of „Hotel zur Tenne“ in the very heart of Kitzbuehel. From Friday, 13th January till Sunday, 15th January the exciting polo matches start in the morning at the Münichauer Wiese in Reith near Kitzbühel.
