Low goal opened play on Monday in Sotogrande at 11am with teams keen to qualify for Thursday’s games. Silex achieved their second win in the Silver Cup with a score of Shakib Polo 5 v 10 Silex, having previously lost one game to Huntsman, following on after their loss to them in the final of the Bronze Cup. It was not however to be Bayswater’s day as they lost their third consecutive game, this time a very close 8 – 8.5 to Sardanola. In the 12:15 game, Huntsman who are yet to lose a game in the 2014 Sotogrande season, had their third Silver Cup league match win (13-8) to Valdeparras-Marques de Torneros.
In light of these results, on Thursday at 11am Silex will play Sardanola and at 12:15 Huntsman will once again meet Valdeparras-Marques de Torneros. Whilst in Saturday’s subsidiary final, Shakib will face Bayswater.
Later in the day, four High Goal teams were on the pitch, already with the knowledge of who had qualified through to Tuesday’s games. King Power (with two wins and one loss) achieved a third win 12-9 against RH, meaning a third loss for RH, whose only win in the Silver Cup games had been against Lechuza Caracas. In the final match of the day, HB Polo, another team to have only secured one win (coincidently also against Lechuza Caracas) also had their third loss, this time trailing by two goals 7-9 to Los Monjitas. Meaning qualification through to Friday’s subsidiary final for King Power and Los Monjitas.
Tuesday in Sotogrande is all set to be an exciting day as four high goal teams, with four 10 goal professionals amidst their ranks play for a place in Friday’s finals.
