Bangash’s Gold Cup journey came to an end after 4 losses saw them finish bottom of their league after a defeat by King Power on Tuesday. It seemed a foregone conclusion from the outset as Bangash were already out of the running coming in off 3 losses. Nico Pieres and Pablo MacDonough made the most of the slower pace to test out some nice team plays and show off their dynamic strategies. With just one goal from the field for Bangash it was not surprising when the whistle blew on a 14-6 triumph for King Power who go through to the penalty stage.

Match 2
There was nothing tranquil or premeditated about this game as Sujan Indian Tigers went in needing the win to keep their Quarters dreams alive while a win for La Magdeleine would have sent them directly to the Quarters. The match was so tight throughout, with two very well matched sides, it was high energy and you could tell both teams were giving their all. Rufino Bensadon had a stand out game, seemingly always in the right place at the right time to receive the passes that flowed freely from teammate Juan Martin Zubia and maybe it was this little extra element plus the pressure of needing to win that tipped the scales in their favour as they overtook in the penultimate chukka to win 11-10. This match pushed both teams through to the penalty shoot out on Thursday.
