AAP names fields 7, 9 and 11

On a historic day for Argentine polo, on Monday 4/28 the Argentine Polo Association baptized courts 7, 9 and 11 of the Alfredo Lalor de Pilar Venue, with the names of three of the five champions of the Triple Crown of Argentine Polo: La Aguada (C7), La Dolfina (C9) and Ellerstina (C11), recalling that in 2023 courts 1 and 2 of the venue had already been named as Coronel Suárez / Juan C. Harriott and Santa Ana / Francisco E. Dorignac, in permanent tribute to the teams that achieved the honorary AAP Triple Crown.

At the beginning of the day, a triangular exhibition was held in which important polo players who won those titles participated, along with members of the Cambiaso, Pieres and Novillo Astrada families.

Adolfo Cambiaso Jr. played for La Dolfina with his three children, Poroto, Mía and Myla; while for Ellerstina the brothers Facundo and Gonzalo (h) Pieres, together with Indalecio (Gonza’s son) and Félix (Nico’s son); while Ignacio and Miguel Novillo Astrada participated for La Aguada along with Simón (Javier’s son), Silvestre (Nacho’s son) and Miguel (h), who was a substitute and entered for a few minutes.

The initial throw-in of each match of the triangular was given by Santos Novillo Astrada (Nacho’s son), Martina Estrada (Adolfo Cambiaso’s mother) and Gonzalo Pieres (h).

After the triangular and with the historic castle in the background, the AAP authorities recognized the five winning clubs of the Triple Crown (in addition to the participants of the triangular, Benjamín Araya for Coronel Suárez, and for Santa Ana, Héctor “Cacho” Merlos, Daniel González and Luna Dorignac -Frankie’s granddaughter-), gave them a commemorative plaque with the name of the fields and then several AAP employees were awarded. with more than 25 years of work in the mother entity of the Argentine Polo.

To end a great day of tributes, the president of the AAP, Delfín Uranga, gave a short speech at the end of his term, a month before the end of his term as head of the Argentine Polo Association.
