THREE TEAMS MUST BREAK THE TIE FOR THE PASS TO THE SEMIFINALS OF THE HIGH HANDICAP
SAN ROQUE, Saturday, August 22, 2026 – After the victories this Saturday of the teams of Ayala -against Dubai- and La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal -against Dos Lunas IQ-, on Sunday morning there will be a penalty shootout between the two winners of the day and Dubai to determine which are the 2 teams qualified for the semifinals for Zone 1 of the Ayala Polo Club de Alto Gold Cup Handicap. This is because all 3 teams have finished their participation tied on points.
Ayala beat Dubai in a great match played on field 4 of Los Pinos. They beat them in extra chukker by 17 to 16 thanks to a goal by Santiago Laborde at that time. Again, the brothers Camilo and Bartolomé Castagnola, rivals today, shone in this duel. Jeta scored 10 goals for Ayala’s team, while his older brother scored 9 for Dubai. For its part, La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal had to beat Dos Lunas IQ and wait for other results to know its fate in the contest. After the victory, now the teams will define their fate on penalties.
This Sunday will be the time for definitions also in Zone 2 of the category, and the 4 teams have a chance of reaching the semifinals.
