Continuing the second day of semifinals at the 133rd Hurlingham Club Open, where the traditional Ayrshire Cup and the Drysdale Subsidiary are at stake, on Saturday 9/26 at field 1 of the Alfredo Lalor Headquarters that the AAP owns in Pilar, La Hache Polo Team defeated Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufú by a close 13 to 12 and thus qualified for the grand final of the tournament, where they will face the defending champion of the Triple Crown 2025, La Natividad La Dolfina , next Saturday 10/3 at field 1 of the Hurlingham Club.
After a dominant start by La Hache in the first chukker, Ellerstina Chapa found their rhythm and, led by an inspired Cruz Heguy, leveled the score midway through the match. From then on, the game became a back-and-forth affair, with successive ties and no respite between the two sides. After reaching the final period tied, La Hache Polo Team earned a penalty which Benjamín Panelo – the star player and top scorer of the match – converted into a goal, securing the victory and bringing joy to his entire team. La Hache advances to the Open final!
