The Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup for the 2015 British Open Championships at Cowdray Park Polo Club – Day 10
By Victoria Elsbury-Legg
3:00PM King Power 6 v 15 UAE Cooch Behar Cup Group C – Brooksfield
It was an eager to win UAE Polo team that rode onto Brooksfield for their third league game, as winning would not only mean lifting the Cooch Behar Cup, but also joining King Power Foxes, El Remanso, Dubai and Apes Hill with three straight wins in all their league games (previous wins UAE 14-6 RH Polo and UAE 12 v 3 HB Polo) and going through to the quarter-finals. Putting three goals through in chukka one, before King Power had even managed to score, demonstrated to all that Jose Ramon Araya, Santiago Stirling, Lucas Monteverde and Pablo MacDonough truly meant business.
The team in blue (Tal Srivaddhanaprabha, Alejandro Muzzio, Marcos Di Paola and Ezequiel Ferrario) did find a goal in chukka one, but it was not until chukka three that they managed to narrow the gap to King Power 4 v 5 UAE. It was not to be for long however, as for the second half of the game it was obvious that UAE meant to dominate the match leading 12 v 6 in chukka six, finally to win the game, the Cooch Behar Cup and a place in the quarter-finals, having beaten King Power by fifteen goals to six.
