Beach Polo at Sandbanks

South America steps in to challenge the England Beach Polo Team at Sandbanks

Sandpolo, the organisers of the British Beach Polo Championships, have invited the South American Beach Polo Team to take on the might of England at this year’s event which take place on Sandbanks beach, Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July.

‘Unfortunately the USA Beach Polo Team are no longer able to compete in the Championships.  It is a shame but this happens occasionally in Polo where a team has a busy tournament schedule and is dependent on the fitness of players and ponies.  South America has dominated polo for decades and we are now thrilled to welcome the Team to the tournament.  The selected team will definitely give England a run for their money,’ said Johnny Wheeler from Sandpolo.

Chris Hyde, the England Captain, and arguably the best arena polo player in the world, said: ‘We are looking forward to taking on the South Americans.  They are great players, particularly on grass, but they must not underestimate my team’s ability in the beach arena.  We are in for a very exciting series of matches’.

There are a host of ticket options available to make the event accessible to all.  General admission to the tournament is £35 per day, the Polo and Party tickets cost £70 and hospitality table packages cost £300 per head.
