By Victoria Elsbury-Legg
Many members of the polo community will be at Emsworth Polo Grounds this Sunday 22nd February 2015 for The Final of the Heaton-Ellis Trust Winter Tournament. Formed in 2008, The Heaton Ellis Trust was set up to fund and raise money for ‘Next Generation Gene Hunting’, to assist with crucial research into ‘hereditary’ and ‘familial’ types of Motor Neurone Disease. Heading up the research at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, King’s Hospital in London is Professor Chris Shaw. Over £1million has been raised since the Trust was started and funding has enabled great progress to be made into finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.
Playing in the 6 goal arena tournament are four teams:
Four Quarters: Manny/Emil Arber (0), Rom Arber (0) and Richard Le Poer (6)
Clogau: Ricky Cooper (1), Harry Hutchings (0) and Roddy Matthews (5)
Nutkins: Brian Conway (0), Sophie Cook (1) and Nico San Roman (5)
