Polo Challenge: Official Presentation held in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires – capital of the polo world – was chosen by the directors of Polo Challenge to host their second event promoting the first high-goal season of the Dominican Republic, to be played from January through to April 2016.
La Martina’s exclusive store was the perfect setting for the event. ‘It was not a coincidence that we chose this location,’ said Alejandro Cleves, General Director of the Polo Challenge, while he welcomed his guests. ‘La Martina will be the official supplier of the Polo Challenge and together we have developed a collection that will be available in La Martina stores around the world.’
Also present were Rafael Torres, General Director of Casa de Campo, Juan Clemente Marambio, Los Establos / Cap Cana Polo Manager, Fernando Arata, Casa de Campo Polo Manager, Benajmin Araya, Polo Challenge Director, and Milo Fernández Araujo, Lechuza Caracas Polo Manager.
The players participating in the tournament also attended the event. Ten goalers Juan Martin Nero, ranked at number three in the world, and David Stirling, number 5, spoke about their expectations for the season: ‘It will be a great season in a beautiful country, one that I am looking forward to getting to know,’ shared Nero, who plays in the number four of position in Victor Vargas’ team, Lechuza Caracas. Stirling, the best Uruguayan polo player of all time, also spoke about his upcoming travels. ‘I have been told that the Dominican Republic has everything, including the best beaches in the world; we hope to work together to make it a place for the best polo in the world too.’
Those who travel to Casa de Campo Resort & Villas and Los Establos in Cap Cana can expect to enjoy an unforgettable sporting experience. They will aslo have the chance to shop luxury brands, which will be available by the grounds. In terms of family entertainment, the Polo Challenge will also encourage kids to play the sport; polo clinics and games will be organised for all.
