POLO PLAYERS AND EQUESTRIAN ENTHUSIASTS INDULGE
Our Internationally-Acclaimed Polo Club and Equestrian Center
Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is a professional Polo & Equestrian resort in the Dominican Republic. Consisting of three tournament fields, Casa de Campo’s Polo Club is home to the largest private herd of horses under one brand and has an established presence in the international polo scene. Weekly polo matches attract crowds from around the world of visiting amateur and professional players as well as resort guests taking-in the action of the exciting sport.
Leisure horseback riders, families and visiting groups alike enjoy scenic trail rides offering Caribbean Sea and Dominican mountain views, or they head to Rancho Peligro — 10,000 acres of back country owned by Casa de Campo — to ride through rolling green hills and alongside wild snarling buffalo. Additionally, exhilarating rides take place on-property along trails edging a 300- foot cliff dropping to the Chavón River below.
Visitors interested in learning or advancing their polo game or horseback riding skills take advantage of the club’s staff of professionals conducting group polo and riding lessons, as well as personalized training for beginners and medium-goal players. “Donkey Polo” is a more casual game for families, where donkeys are hired for light-hearted stick and ball tournaments. A softer equestrian experience, pony rides are also available for guests and especially great for kids. Additional lessons assist guests in learning or polishing other skills such as basic riding, jumping and horse-handling techniques.
Casa de Campo Resort & Villas – a member of The Leading Hotels of the World – attracts affluent travelers with the offering of spacious hotel rooms, suites and luxury villas. Expect gourmet cuisine and fine wines and spirits throughout the destination’s restaurants and bars, a 370-slip Marina & Yacht Club, Polo & Equestrian Club, La Terraza Tennis Center and 245-acre Shooting Club. Spanning 7,000 tropical acres on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic, this luxury Caribbean destination is also home to three of the game’s most difficult courses all designed by Pete Dye, including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and The Links. Casa de Campo is also home to Altos de Chavón – an artisan’s village modeled after a 16th century Mediterranean city with boutique shops, museums and a 5,000-seat Grecian-style amphitheater inaugurated by Frank Sinatra in August of 1982.
