Ibiza Polo Club

 

Ibiza is not the first location to come to mind when you think of Polo, but believe it or not, with the opening of the Ibiza Polo Club in 2011, a growing community of fans and players of the sport of kings is growing in the Pitiusa island, adding a touch of sophistication to its already abundant.

 

Before the Club, Gabriel Iglesias had brought Polo to Ibiza in the form of Beach Polo in dén Bossa beach in 2010. It was so successful that they repeated for two years and ended up being a regular fixture in the schedule of the Ibiza Polo Club, becoming  the star tournament in the busy month of August.  Adolfo Cambiaso himself has taken part in this tournament twice as well as many other high handicap players.

 

This summer, the Club, sponsored by the luxury hotel ME Ibiza and by Aguas de Ibiza has a pretty busy tournament calendar, hosting the third edition of the Mixta Cup and the first edition of the Father & Son Cup, both of them in July.

 

In September, the Club will host two weekends of the VIVA MEXICO FEST 2016 tournament, where cultural, artistic and gastronomic  celebrations join the sport events.

 

Thanks to Ibiza’s mild winter weather, it is possible to play Polo in the island all year around. IBIZA POLO CLUB will be actively promoting their Christmas and New Year tournaments in which they are planning to surprise guests and regulars with a variety of shows: from musical performances to fashion shows and of course… tons of Argentine roast!
