Boynton Beach, Fla. – March 26, 2017- With only two weeks remaining until the tournament finals at Palm City Polo, competition was fierce this past weekend. The teams from Greenhill Winery and Precise Property, Inc. won in the 6-goal league while Halcyon and Stone Pony were victors in the 10-goal league.

Precise Property, Inc. Overthrows Kings Hill 7-5.5 in 6-Goal League
Precise Property, Inc. outscored Kings Hill on St. Patrick’s Day to win the 6-goal league match 7-5.5. Precise Property, Inc. accounted for five from the field and two from the penalty line, while Kings Hill tallied four from the field as well as starting with one-and-one half goals prior to the start of the game to accommodate the handicap.
“The game was well fought, but still lots of fun,” said Precise Property, Inc. team patron Bruce Schreiber. We had great passes and fortunately, we were able to score lots of goals.”
Almost half the goals for Precise Property, Inc. were scored in the first chukker. Bob Kohn scored twice, once from the field and once from the penalty line as well as one from the field by Geoff Richards. King’s Hill maintained the lead 3.5-3 following the first chukker due to the handicap and goals by Jeff Sopik and Joey Casey. That lead changed in the second chukker. Richards and Kohn each notched another goal moving Precise Property, Inc. ahead 5-3.5 at halftime.
In the third chukker, defense played a significant role as the only goal was a penalty scored by Richards to increase the spread for Precise Property 6-3.5. Kings Hill made a comeback
in the final chukker with goals by Sopik and Bob Painter. Nonetheless, Richards, who was having a great day, scored his fourth, assuring the win for Precise Property, Inc. 7-5.5.

Greenhill Winery Cuts Down Precise Property, Inc. 4.5-3 in 6-Goal League
The celebration by the Precise Property, Inc. team from Friday’s victory did not continue on Saturday as Greenhill Winery defeated them on 4.5-3 leading from start to finish.
“It was amazing,” said team patron David Greenhill. “They were a tough team. Fortunately, we were able to prevail. We played well today, but it was a tough battle.”
It was challenging and close as each team scored in three out of the four chukkers. Greenhill Winery started with a handicap of 1.5 and then David Greenhill scored one from the field. Even though Bob Kohn put Precise Property, Inc. on the board, Greenhill Winery led at the end of the first chukker 2.5-1.
The ladies on the team kept the momentum going for Greenhill Winery. Hilary Mroz-Blythe scored in the second chukker and Rebekah Pizanain the third, while Kohn scored the only goal for the opposition. Kohn’s additional goal in the fourth chukker was not enough to overcome the deficit for Precise Property, Inc. losing to Greenhill Winery 4.5-3.

Halcyon Edges Out a 6-5 Win Against Mayer Ranch in 10-Goal
On Sunday morning, Halcyon lived up to their blissful name enjoying a 6-5 victory against Mayer Ranch in the 10-goal league match. Five of the goals were scored by Geoff Richards.
“Geoff did a great job today. I am really proud of him,” said Rick Salter of team Halcyon. “The team played great, plus we had a lot of luck. I have a feeling we are going to see that team again in the finals.”
Mayer Ranch took the immediate lead with two goals by 15-year-old Clark Mayer. Halcyon rallied in the second chukker with Richards scoring three of his five goals for a halftime score of 3-2. Richards scored his fourth in the third chukker along with one by Salter to put Halcyon on top 5-2.
In the fourth chukker, the Halcyon lead increased by one as Richards sent his fifth goal through the posts. Mayer Ranch refused to give in. The team was down by four and came back to within one goal after Ken Mayer scored once off a penalty and both he and 6-goaler Nacho Badiola added one from the field. Near the end of the match, the Mayer team tried to tie, yet could not overcome the Halcyon force and the sensational scoring streak by Richards.

Boca Polo Steps Over Stone Pony to Win 10-Goal Match 5-4
The Boca Polo team scored in every chukker and each player contributed to the final count to take the match against Stone Pony 5-4 in the 10-goal league on Sunday afternoon.
Stone Pony led the way early with two on the board from their handicap along with a goal from the field by Hilary Mroz-Blythe. Timmy Sharma scored for Boca Polo leaving them in the hole at the end of the first chukker 3-1. Boca Polo and Sharma fared better in the second chukker with a two more goals for his team to tie the match at halftime 3-3.
The game was still tied 4-4 at the end of the third chukker as Stone Pony’s David Greenhill and Boca Polo’s Peter Nathanial each recorded a goal. It all came down to the final chukker. Omar Sosa stepped up with a goal from the field while the Boca Polo kept Stone Pony at bay to win the match 5-4.
“It was a fun game with Nacho, Peter and Omar clearing the way for me scoring a couple,” said Sharma. “We all played well as a team and I think that made the difference.”
