Harry East Memorial 2010

Harry East Memorial

The final of the Harry East Memorial 8 goal at Santa Barbara went down to the wire but in the end Mansour triumphed 11-9.

Mansour, behind the team play of the deadly duo of Santiago Wulff and Santiago von Wernich, benefited from being consistent on the penalty line, scoring 8 of the 11 goals off of open goal penalties. Homewood, led by Santa Barbara newcomer Christian Riva, was able to push Mansour a lot by opening up the game, but the Santis were too consistent on defense and kept Homewood in check. Roberto Zedda kept his Homewood players on the run, distributing the ball well to his players and then hustling back on defense, but it wasn’t quite enough against the guys in green. Andy Busch Jr, filling in for Ben Soleimani, also made a lot of nice plays in his first tournament final.

MVP of the final was Roberto Zedda of Homewood, BPP was Diva, ridden by Roberto Zedda.

For the consolation of the Harry East Memorial 8 goal tournament at Santa Barbara, a good time was had by all as both teams remarked upon the friendly and competitive game. Although China Beach was victorious 11-9 over Gehache/ Beverly Hills Institute, all the players in the game were involved from beginning to end and spread the goal scoring around. High scorer was Marcos Llambias of Gehache/ BHI with 6 goals, followed closely by Henry and Matt Walker of China Beach with 4 goals each.
