ATL MARINE & ENERGY DEBUTED IN THE SILVER CUP 22 GOAL

SAN ROQUE, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 – This Tuesday’s was a very intense 

day of the Terralpa Silver Cup, with matches for the 3 polo categories: High, Medium and

Low Handicap. The 53rd Andalusia International Polo Tournament is now in full swing in Sotogrande

and some of the main candidates are already taking shape.

The match that closed the date, the one in prime time, whose stage was court number 3

of Ayala Sede Los Pinos, had the Calatagan and ATL Marine & Energy teams 

 replayed,  the duel they had had for the final of the Bronze Cup

Sotogrande. ATL Marine & Energy had an almost perfect first half,

achieving an advantage of 8 to 4. But Calatagan recomposed  during halftime and even turned the story around:

They were leading  9-8 with only half a chukker left to play. But ATL Marine’s 10 goals &

Energy, Barto Castagnola, was outstanding  in the decisive moments: first he converted a

penalty from 60 yards, with which he equalized; and, in the next move, when the

first bell, took the ball, made a great individual maneuver and converted the goal of the

victoria.

In turn, and for the Medium Handicap, Jolly Roger and Brunei faced each other, two teams that arrived

with two defeats in a row. The victory went to Jolly Roger, who won by 8 to 7. For its part, in the

Under Handicap, there were victories of 1896 Polo and Polo Valley, against Essso and Grupo Mendizábal,

respectively.

The action for the Terralpa Silver Cup will resume on Wednesday, with 3 matches at Ayala Sede

Los Pinos in the afternoon-.

The 53rd Andalusia International Polo Tournament takes place between the 3 playing fields of Ayala Polo

Club and the 4 that Ayala owns Los Pinos Headquarters, and is disputed in 3 polo categories: High Handicap

(20-22 Goals), Medium Handicap (12-14 Goals) and Low Handicap (6-8 Goals).
