BMW – B.Grimm Thai Open 2012 Tournament – Day 3
The following matches were played in the Third date of the BMW – B.Grimm Thai Open 2012 Tournament which took place on Sunday, 15th January:
Macau: 5½ vs LaSarita: 7
The Macau team fought brilliantly to beat the undefeated LaSarita team of Singapore only to realize a score of 7 for LaSarita to 5 ½ for Macau. The patrons from Macau, Pedro Bettencourt and Rodrigo Castro put on a most impressive performance in their first tournament at the 14 goal level. Albi Bach, coming off of an injury suffered in their last game showed no signs of being off par. It would have to say that if the best win/loss
record in the tournament at this point means anything, then the best team won 7 to 5 1/2.
Royal Pahang: 6 vs AXUS: 7 1/2
In an incredibly exciting match to watch between two superb teams, AXUS went on to win over Royal Pahang 7 1/2 to 6 . However, that winning score was not enough to displace Royal Pahang from going through to the semi finals of the Thai Open Championship on Wedensday 18 Jan. Royal Pahang’s opponent has yet to be determined.
BDRB-IHIL: 6 1/2 vs GTM: 6
In a must win situation for both teams, BDRB-IHIL eked out a victory over GTM. Both teams threw their hearts and souls into the game and played as if there was going to be no tomorrow. As it turned out, it was probably the most hotly contested match to take place prior to the semi-finals of the 2012 Thai Open. In the last chukkar, it looked as though GTM was going to pull it out of the magic hat, however, at the end, it was to be BDRB-IHIL winning over GTM 6 1/2 to 6.
