C.V Whitney – Day 1 Opening Wins for The Dutta Corp & Coca Cola

The C.V. Whitney Cup kicked off over the weekend with two matches on Saturday 8th February at the National Polo Center. The C.V Whitney Cup is the first of the three tournaments that make up the Gauntlet of Polo, the highest ranked tournament series in the United States at 22 goals.

Match 1:

First up, The Dutta Corp won against Brookshire by a score of 16-10 in the first match of the first round of qualifiers. With Timmy Dutta on fire in front of goal, and Brookshire just unable to make the most of their scoring opportunities, it was Th Dutta Corp in the lead throughout the game and they sealed their first win of the tournament.

Match 2:
Coca-Cola won against La Dolfina/Tamera by a score of 17-13. A close match, despite the final score, the lead switched between the two sides throughout the match as the well established Coca Cola team took a while to find their rhythm and La Dolfina/ Tamera had an incredible 5 goal chukka heading in to halftime. Coca Cola reciprocated well and continued to push to secure the win.
