Carrier B.Grimm Thai Polo Open 2017

La Familia & Thai Polo share title!

The final day of the Thai Polo Open was an utter success that took place on Saturday at the Thai Polo & Equestrian Club, the prestigious tournament closed with an event that featured  a large number of equestrian activities, and the Thai Polo Open final match as the piece de resistance.

The day featured a wide range of equestrian disciplines such as pony rides for kids, riding and show-jumping shows and freestyle dressage. Before the polo games, the qualifier matches for the SEA Games of Show Jumping that will take place next August (19 to 31) in Malaysia, took place.

Back to polo, La Familia and the local Thai Polo Team were set to play the final match. But before the grand final, Malaysia, Axus and Royal Pahang played a round robin to define the third position which was claimed by the very solid Axus team, followed by Royal Pahang in fourth place.

Afterwards, the much awaited moment of the day approached, the big final between Thai Polo and La Familia. Both teams had equal chances to win. Thai Polo had a good start, with a goal by the star of the team, Agustin Garcia Grossi. La Familia responded quickly with probabbly the best goal of the contest by Gines Bargello, that brought the game to a tie at the end of first chukka.

The second chukka commenced with a more open game with the locals leading the attack, but La Familia showed  its solid defense once more. Garcia Grossi managed to score once again, followed by a goal by Harald Link that granted them the lead of the match, until Mohamed Mois (MVP of the game) scored twice in a row, just when the first raindrops started to fall.

The rain was quite heavy at the start of third chukka, so consequently it started to get dangerous for both horses and players, therefore the game paused for a while. But as the rain refused to go away, the captains of each team decided to stop the game and share the title, a great example of fair play.

MVP: Mohamed Moiz.

BPP: Zorro, played by Pablo Jauretche, property of Harald Link.

After the awards ceremony a fantastic dinner was offered accompanied with a live band and Dj to cheer up the party.
