Twelve Oaks 16 – 9 BP Polo at The Castle Ground
Murus Sanctus 10 – 9 Cibao La Pampa at The Queen’s Ground
Making their Queen’s Cup debut, BP Polo began with three goals on handicap in a substitution of James Beh for Joevy Beh. Twelve Oaks quickly got to work on offense with early contributions from Pittaluga, Laprida and Mac Donough Jr. Shutting out BP Polo in the second chukka, Panelo hit the goal in the third, but a flurry of first half goals including five off the mallet of Pittaluga at the line gave Twelve Oaks a 9-5 edge at the break. Maintaining pressure in the fourth, Mac Donough Jr. and Pittaluga each struck from the field, with Laprida adding to Twelve Oaks’ lead in the fifth. Committing a total of twelve fouls in the match, BP Polo struggled to generate a consistent offensive attack, as a three-goal final chukka sealed the impressive victory for Twelve Oaks 16-9.
Concluding Sunday’s action, Murus Sanctus began their bid for a second consecutive victory with an early three-goal lead on efforts from Pieres and Muzzio. Finding their rhythm in the second, Cibao La Pampa posted a four-goal unanswered run featuring Panelo leading the charge. Responding in the field for Murus Sanctus, Richard, Muzzio, and Araya capped off the half strong with Murus Sanctus asserting the 6-4 lead. Trading goals to open the second half, three from Panelo in the fifth, including two crucial conversions vaulted Cibao La Pampa into the lead by one. Digging in defensively, Murus Sanctus curbed Cibao La Pampa’s momentum holding them to just two shots in the sixth, as back-to-back goals from Araya and Pieres delivered Twelve Oaks the electrifying 10-9 win.
