Davos to host the first ever City Snow Polo Tournament
The first ever City Snow Polo tournament will take place in the highest city in Europe, Davos Switzerland, from 25-28 February next year. The Swiss city, known for attracting a wealth of glamour from around the world and staging the annual World Economic Forum, welcomes a weekend of high-octane action and luxury entertainment at the inaugural event, hosted by InterContinental Davos, Destination Davos Klosters and Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS).
World-class polo players and ponies will descend on the city to make up four International teams, representing global financial centres such as London, Davos, New York and Zurich. Fans will be treated to some incredible, high-intensity and unique polo competition on the field, followed by glamorous cocktail parties and fabulous food off the field.
Two games of polo will take place in the centre of Davos each afternoon with Thursday 25 February reserved primarily for the residents of Davos to watch free of charge. Exclusive VIP Tickets will be available for the remainder of the weekend with General Admission tickets also going on sale in the New Year.
For spectators that are new to the sport, the rules of fast and furious polo have been adapted to make the game even faster and to bring the crowd closer to the action. Guests can watch from the luxurious VIP grandstand, the snow polo deck or the public area, where there will be delicious hot snacks and plenty to drink.
In addition to the polo, the extraordinary InterContinental Davos Hotel will act as the headquarters for the duration of the event, from where there will be unrivalled hospitality, parties and fun events on offer.
With some exciting sponsors already on board including InterContinental Davos, Destination Davos Klosters, SWISS, Lanson, La Martina and more to follow, there will be something for everyone over the course of the weekend.
