England takes on USA for the Westchester Cup at Windsor Great Park for the Audi International Polo Series 28.07.2013
Guards Polo Club is proud to announce that Keith Prowse will be providing hospitality and boujis private members club the official after‐party
Polo’s oldest and most prestigious trophy is the prize this summer when Audi England take on the USA, supported by Equus & Co, at Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park, on Sunday 28 July. This will be the first UK staging of the Westchester Cup in 16 years and the first time boujis private members club is to host the official after‐party alongside Keith Prowse offering their culinary expertise after their contract renewal with the Hurlingham Polo association.
The International Pavilion will provide a sanctuary for Keith Prowse and boujis guests to enjoy a luxury three‐course summer lunch and accompanying hand‐picked wines, followed by a traditional British afternoon tea during breaks from spectating. The day of society polo will then be concluded with an impressive after‐party hosted by award winning boujis with its signature serves, headline DJ’s and electrifying entertainment.
Martyn Bowden, Marketing & Group PR Manager states “boujis has been synonymous for throwing some of the best parties and exclusive eventsLive in London and internationally for its members ‐ now it’s time to put our stamp on this prestigious polo event”
Non‐members will also be able to purchase tickets to this pavilion party with a limited number of tables, alongside a tiered offering from our drinks partners; Moët & Chandon champagne and Belvedere Vodka.
This impressive Westchester Cup is the flagship fixture of the largest Audi International Polo Series, as well as being the key feature event for the UK sport’s governing body, the Hurlingham Polo Association. The Blue Riband of international polo, this match will be a rare chance to watch the highly successful England team battle against a very competitive team from the USA on UK soil. These two countries have not clashed here since 1997, when England won 12‐9. In Florida in 2009, when the Cup was last contested, England was again successful, winning 10‐9.
Jon Zammett, Head of PR for Audi UK said: “The Americans are experts at all kinds of horse power and the drama of this prestigious match at Guards Polo Club will make it a national occasion. The US polo team can only inspire the England players to raise their game even further – the Westchester Cup will certainly be dramatic and one not to be missed.”
In addition to the afternoon’s Westchester Cup match, the day begins with a fast paced morning match for the Diamond Jubilee Trophy, featuring a Prince of Wales team v a Hurlingham squad.
As well as hospitality opportunities for all Guards and Hurlingham Polo Association members, Keith Prowse will bring its impressive Chukkas Restaurant to Guards Polo Club on this day, offering both great dining and a relaxing ambience for all.
“Andrew Hodgkins, managing director at Keith Prowse, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be hosting guests in our official capacity as hospitality suppliers for the Audi International Polo this year. The Westchester Cup is respected globally on the same level as the Ashes Series in cricket or the Ryder Cup in golf. We are expecting to see an influx of international guests looking to enjoy this rare sporting occasion between England and USA and have confidence that our first‐ class hospitality will make this event even more memorable for guests.”
