Quarterfinal Fixtures Decided for
the Fortune Heights Snow Polo World Cup 2014
After an exciting six days of preliminary matches at the Fortune Heights Snow Polo World Cup 2014, penalty shoot-outs were held this morning to decide the match-ups for the next two days of quarterfinals. Spain were eliminated from the tournament by scoring two penalties to Chile’s three. And in a four-way shoot-out to decide the order of finishing in Zone 2, it concluded (from first to last place): New Zealand, Brazil, France, USA.
The Quarterfinal schedule has been finalised as follows –
QUARTERFINAL 1 Wednesday 15th January, 13:00
Hong Kong China (1st place Zone 1) vs USA (4th place Zone 2)
QUARTERFINAL 2 Wednesday 15th January, 14:30 approx
Brazil (2nd place Zone 2) vs Mexico (3rd place Zone 1)
QUARTERFINAL 3 Thursday 16th January, 13:00
New Zealand (1st place Zone 2) vs Chile (4th place Zone 1)
QUARTERFINAL 4 Thursday 16th January, 14:30 approx
England (2nd place Zone 2) vs France (3rd place Zone 1)
The quarterfinal games will consist of four six-minute chukkas. If the scores are level at the end of four chukkas, a penalty shoot-out will take place to decide the winner. The semi-finals will then take place on Saturday 18 January, and the subsidiary final and grand final will be played on Sunday 19 January.
