On Saturday 5/10 the 131st Hurlingham Club Open presented by Triumph will be defined, in which the traditional Ayrshire Cup is at stake. The defending champion of the tournament, La Dolfina Saudi, vs. La Natividad, will face each other on field 1 of the club located in the west of Greater Buenos Aires, in a historic final, since for the fifth time two teams with the highest value in polo will face each other: the 40-goal handicap.
OFFICIAL 80-GOAL MATCHES
Only four were played in the history of polo: two in 2009 and the remaining two in 2018. In all four, La Dolfina and Ellerstina faced each other, with two wins per side.
In 2009, the Zeta won 19-13 in the zone definition of the Hurlingham Open; and it was LD’s 17-16 victory in the final in Palermo. Meanwhile, in 2018 there were two finals of 80 goals: 11-9 for LD in Tortugas and 12-11 for Zeta in Hurlingham.
In this way, it will be the third time that there will be an 80-goal match at the Hurlingham Open and the second in a final in the West.
Of the eight players who will participate in the grand final on Saturday 5/10, four of them have participated in all the official matches of 80 goals: Adolfo Cambiaso (h), Pablo Mac Donough, Juan Martín Nero and Facundo Pieres, and all of them have the same record: 2 wins and 2 losses in these matches. Which will be the two that will be left with three wins: Adolfito and Juanma or Pablo and Facu?
It will be a historic and unmissable match! Don’t miss it! Buy your tickets on https://www.ticketek.com.ar/triple-corona/abierto-polo-hurlingham-club
