Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates the launch of its Flagship in Mayfair during a Housewarming Party with friends on Old Bond Street.

On the evening of the 12th May, Jaeger-LeCoultre welcomed distinguished guests to the Housewarming of its Flagship boutique in London’s Old Bond Street.

Over 150 close friends, clients and collectors attended the Housewarming party to celebrate the legend-filled journey of Jaeger-LeCoultre from its origins over 180 years ago in the Swiss Jura Mountains, to a true luxury brand that continues to deliver on a unique tradition in fine watchmaking: the tradition of invention, precision and refinement. Artists were on-hand to capture the scene, and the Flagship was hailed as one of London’s most welcoming destinations dedicated to discovering true savoir-faire.

Cutting the ceremonial ribbon were CEO Daniel Riedo; International Director Jerome Favier; UK Market & Global Strategy Director Zahra Kassim-Lakha; Carmen Chaplin and Eduardo Novillo Astrada. Other dear friends included The Marchioness of Milford Haven, Astrid Muñoz, Luke Tomlinson, designer Tim Gosling and several prominent figures of the UK watch collector community, press, and influential Mayfair personalities.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has had a strong bond with the United Kingdom throughout its history. From the 1851 Universal Exhibition in London, where Antoine LeCoultre was awarded his first gold medal for his major contribution to the development of the watchmaking industry, to the development of the Calibre 101 that equipped the watch worn by Queen Elizabeth II on her Coronation, through the iconic Reverso watch, originally created in 1931 for British officers playing polo in India. These are numerous examples that illustrate the very special emotions that unite the Manufacture of the Vallée de Joux and the UK.

The Art Deco style has always been a great source of inspiration for Jaeger-LeCoultre and this style is perfectly brought to life with its iconic Reverso, Atmos collections and the 101 jewellery creations. This Art Deco aesthetic is therefore prominent in the Brand’s boutiques around the world. To underline its British connection, Jaeger-LeCoultre worked closely with renowned Art Deco British interior and furniture designer, Tim Gosling, to create a special, warm ambiance in the Heritage room as well as the more private salon, highlighting Jaeger-LeCoultre’s feminine connection. The stunning Gosling creations, all made in England using sycamore, gorgeous herringbone wool and tables in bronze and vellum, in addition to rare objects that symbolise special moments in the Maison’s history, all help to bring a very unique story to life in this Flagship.

Last but not least, at the very core of the Flagship is a majestic wall of calibres presenting over 60 of the 1,249 calibres invented at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture since Antoine LeCoultre founded the Maison in 1833.

Chief Executive of Jaeger-LeCoultre Daniel Riedo said “From a tiny watchmaker’s atelier in the secluded Jura Mountains to a well-established high watchmaking Manufacture, Jaeger-LeCoultre is today a true luxury brand”.

UK Market & Global Strategy Director, Zahra Kassim-Lakha, was delighted to see so many friends who have always believed in the vision of the Maison. She pointed out “This Flagship boutique is not a locked vault to visit on a special occasion, but is open for you – our friends and clients – to make your own. As a Flagship, it has the fullest collection of the Maison in the United Kingdom, if not the world. Exceptional pieces will be showcased here at regular intervals giving you a reason to return again and again.  Each visit you will discover something new about our timepieces, about our heritage, and about fine watches in general.”
