Kickoff Weekend for 8 and 20 Goal Polo


The 8 and 20 goal leagues are in full swim at Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. This past weekend, the kickoff match for the high goal was held at 1:00PM followed by a competitive 8 goal match.

Familiar faces from the summer 12 goal took the field on Sunday for the 8 goal match between Klentner Ranch and Dark Horse/ Film Finances. 

Jake Klentner (A) joined his dad Justin Klentner (1), Tim Rudy (3), and Jesse Bray (4) for his first 8 goal tournament. Dark Horse/Film Finances had much of the same team as their 12 goal with Leigh Breechen (A), Patrick Uretz (3), Santi Trotz (5) who are joined by Dark Horse sponsor Sara Rotman (0) for the 8 goal season. Klentner Ranch maintained a slight advantage in the first two chukkers leading 2-1 in the first and 5-3 in the second. Patrick Uretz helped Film Finances/Dark Horse pull ahead in the 3rd chukker 8-6 by scoring 3 goals in addition to a goal by Leigh Breechen and Santi Trotz. Jake Klentner scored two goals in the fourth chukker to help bring the score to a tie 9-9. Teammate Jesse Bray added 3 goals in the 5th to end 12-10. Dark Horse/Film Finances captain Santi Trotz scored 3 in the final chukker, but came up one goal short ending the game 14-13 in favor of Klentner Ranch. Jesse Bray was the high scorer of the game with 10 goals.
