A new edition of La Aguada Cowdray Park Polo Trophy is underway at La Aguada Polo Club
Four teams up to 12 goals are currently playing a new edition of La Aguada Cowdray Park Polo Trophy, within the 2018 Spring Season, Presented by Río Uruguay Seguros, at La Aguada Polo Club, in Open Door, Argentina.
Hosted together by two of the most renowned polo clubs worldwide – La Aguada Polo Club and Cowdray Park Polo Club, the tournament is a unique opportunity to ensure the long time bond and friendship between both clubs. Set in Midhurst, West Sussex, Cowdray Park Polo Club was established in 1910 and it is considered the cradle of British Polo, the place that re-established polo in England after the Second World War. In addition, it is the home of one of the most important polo trophies of the world, the Gold Cup for the British Open, established in 1956. The final is played on the club’s main ground and the backdrop are the spectacular ruins of the historical Cowdray Castle. The Novillo Astrada brothers are among those who lifted the golden trophy of the British Open, along with names like the first ever champions, the Argentine foursome Los Indios, and the Duke of Edinburgh, whose Windsor Park lineup included the legendary Argentine 10-goaler, Gonzalo Tanoira.
