Next weekend (17th/18th January 2015) The All England Polo Club at Hickstead will host The Arundel Equine Hospital Tournament, a competitive annual 4-6 goal tournament which is now in its eighth year.  Giving the tournament its name is the only RCVS accredited equine hospital in Sussex – The Arundel Equine Hospital, which uses state of the art technology to treat ponies from all equine disciplines.  If you are looking for polo this weekend entries are still open for anyone who would like to enter and all supporters are welcome to come and sample the sofas and well-renowned Sunday Roasts (advanced booking is recommended).

Later on in the month on Saturday 31st January and Sunday 1st February, The All England Polo Club, founded in 2006 by John Bunn will be hosting an inaugural tournament, but one with a very familiar name to the world of polo.  The first ever Images of Polo Tournament will see Tony Ramirez’s Images of Polo represented on either side of the presentation table, with both prizes, line up and match photographs being provided by the polo photography specialists who are renowned for capturing the best backhands, swings, ride-offs and penalties worldwide.  Tony Ramirez of Images of Polo (who are also the AEPC’s official photographers) explained how the idea of the match came about, ‘There is a long association between Hickstead and Images of Polo, we have been photographing the Arena Polo at The All England Polo Club for seven seasons, supporting this match seemed a great way to acknowledge our relationship.’

Looking forward another date for the polo diary not to be missed, also taking place at The All England Club, is the Arena Test Match for the Bryan Morrison Trophy, a 12 goal challenge being held on Saturday 7th March 2015 between Clogau Wales Polo team, captained by Ricky Cooper, and the team in green – Ireland.
