Oak Brook Polo Club Welcomes Delhi Polo Club India to Compete For the International Cup, Sunday, August 16, 2015

 

Oak Brook Polo Club to Live Stream Match on Chukker.TV to a Global Audience

 

The Oak Brook Polo Club and the Village of Oak Brook are excited to welcome the Delhi Polo Club India for “International Day” on the Oak Brook polo grounds in Oak Brook, Illinois. Oak Brook Polo Club chairman, Michael Butler, will be escorting the team from their appearance in Waialua, Hawaii at the Hawaii Polo Club on August 9th to Chicago. Oak Brook Polo has a long history of welcoming teams from Europe and other countries, including an appearance by Prince Charles in 1986, which was attended by over 4,000 polo fans.

 

The India team, led by Vikram Singh Sodhi, managing trustee of the Sahib Heritage Foundation and owner of the Delhi Polo and Riding Club, will be joining his team (Amit Sangwan, Deepak Udar and Major Vikram Rathore) for this rare opportunity to compete for the International Cup against the Oak Brook Polo Club team (Horacio Onetto, Jason Wates and John Greene) captained by James Drury. Vikram established the Delhi Polo and Riding Club in 1995, which is a fully developed, internationally recognized, polo and equestrian facility.

 

Match activities will commence on Saturday, August 15, India’s Independence Day, with an Appreciation Dinner at The Drake Hotel beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by two, four chukker matches at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16. The Oak Brook Polo Club will live- stream the International Cup match on Chukker.TV, the worldwide leader in polo broadcasting.
