Polo – Internationals & High Goal

Polo – Internationals & High Goal

In only a matter of days the best polo in the world will be playing out on the lawns of England, as around the world the arrival of the top players from across the globe is documented via the power of technology as it continues to link the international world of polo.

The newest US ten goal player – Polito Pieres took to Twitter and Instagram to not only thank everyone for their support (and repost Hurlingham instagram posts), but also to show himself aboard the plane prior to take off as he headed to English shores earlier in the week – and it wasn’t just one ten goaler who featured in the arm length ‘selfie’.  Facundo and Gonzalito along with their wives and families were captured in the snap, as they all settled down for the trip – Heathrow bound.

In other ‘international’ polo news, the England line-up has been announced for the first International of the season – the St Regis Test Match, which will be played at Cowdray Park Polo Club on Saturday 16th May.  This week the HPA has confirmed that heading up the England squad will be James Beim as Captain, who will be playing alongside Max Charlton, Richard Le Poer and James Harper.  All four players will be playing to defend the title which they won last season beating 11.5 – 8 against South America.

The opposition for 2015 is yet to be completely finalised, although they will be playing a team from ‘The Americas’ – and the word pitch-side is that St. Regis Ambassador Nacho Figueras and Chilean Jamie Huidobro will be making up one half of the side.
