Santa Barbara – Silver Cup Final

The Rincon League started competing for the
Summerland Officers Cup, while the 20-goal teams competed for the historic Farmers &
Merchants Bank Silver cup, a tradition over a century old.

In the initial round of the Summerland Cup, Sol de Agosto triumphed over Lucchese 12-10. After
trailing in the 3rd chukker, they regained their lead thanks to Antonio de Narvaez’s scoring
prowess and Keko Magrini’s penalty precision. In the next games, Folded Hills/Zahedi Chogan
claimed victory over BFBST/Novis Law 11-9, and Klentner Ranch bested Del Padre 9-6. The
second round saw all teams level at 1-1. BFBST/Novis Law overturned a 3-goal deficit after
halftime to defeat Sol De Agosto 11-10, and Lucchese defeated Klentner Ranch 11-3.

The 20-goal teams battled for a chance at the historic Silver Cup trophy during the Semi-Finals,
Brookshire and Antelope remained tied for the first three chukkers of their match, maintaining a
neck-and-neck struggle for the lead. Peke Gonazalez’s coast to coast goal during chukker 5 put
Brookshire back on top, finishing the match 13-11. Bensoleimani.com emerged victorious over
Farmers & Merchants Bank 16-8, solidifying their place in the final. In the subsidiary match,
Klentner Ranch defeated A Team 10-7. Gallego Ferrario was honored as MVP, and Vikinga,
owned by Santi Wulff, was awarded Best Playing Pony.

The Silver Cup Final started with an intensity that had the packed grandstands on the edges of
their seats. Bensoleimani.com and Brookshire were evenly matched, making for a riveting game.
Brookshire broke away with four rapid goals in the third chukker and successfully deflected
Bensoleimani.com’s aggressive heightened offense to clinch the coveted Silver Cup 10-7. Peke
Gonzalez was named MVP, and his horse, 5, was recognized as Best Playing Pony.

This upcoming week marks the start of the prestigious Netjet’s Pacific Coast Open and the finals
of the Whittier Trust America Cup.
