The English Arena Season 2014/2015 has arrived at Hickstead

If we continue to mention the word ‘winter’ in whispered tones maybe we will be in for a mild one, but the mist in the morning air, thicker coats on our four-legged friends and the necessity for rugs can no longer be ignored (nor can the need for wellingtons when accessing their fields!).
With the winter strings making themselves comfortable in stables the length of England, this weekend at Hickstead All England Polo Club the first of a number of ‘Open Days are being held for all those who wish to ‘Discover Polo’. Arena Season openers will take place on 18th & 19th and 25th & 26th October, giving people interested in the sport the chance to meet members and the ponies on a tour of the facilities and enjoy some chukkas free of charge. Alternatively, if you prefer a less energetic option you can simply sit in the Clubhouse, enjoy the papers, a Sunday Roast and the’ spectator sport of polo’.
