The Images of Polo Victor Ludorum 8 Goal Final
The Images of Polo Victor Ludorum Final was a tightly contested affair. Both teams seemed to match each others skill and determination blow for blow through the first three chukkas.
Red River sadly were unable to capitalise on a feast of penalties in the first two chukkas, which if they had, would have seen them storm into a healthy lead.
Some great team work from the Exclusive Rooms side, meant they kept up the pressure throughout the game and took a brief two goal lead in the second chukka. Red River however fought back and by the end of the third both teams were level at 7 goals each.
Kevin Shaw on Best Playing Pony of the match, Pancho, went to work early in the fourth and final chukka with two quick goals. The pace of the game lifted as both teams were desperate to clinch victory. Red River’s Daniel Acosta made some high speed runs but was unable to convert. It was Niall Donnelly for Exclusive Rooms, that scored two more goals to take a convincing 11-7 lead.
Red River patron Stephen Burley snuck in a final goal for his side in the last minute of the game, taking the final score to 11-8.
Niall Donnelly was named MVP for being his team’s leading goal scorer and proving a formidable force.
Pancho, owned and played by Kevin Shaw in the second and final chukka was named Best Playing Pony.
Both teams were treated to lots of Images of Polo goodies and British Polo Gin kindly provided the winners with a bottle each of their rather tasty Gin. Spectators were treated to samples of the gin during the match and all gave it smashing reviews!
