Village Properties’ Cup Final
Edelweiss/Antelope dominated the Village Properties’ Cup Final this past Sunday at Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. Carol Lessine replaced Geoff Palmer for the two week tournament to play with Patrick Uretz, Jesse Bray, and Santi Trotz. Edelweiss/Antelope played against Grants Farm Manor with Justin Klenter, Henry Walker, Santi Wulff, and Fede Wulff replacing Andy Busch for the weekend.
The match started off close with both teams scoring quick goals at the beginning of the game. Antelope/Edelweiss overcame the 1 goal handicap awarded to GFM by scoring 3 goals in the first chukker. The team pulled ahead in the second and third chukkers to end the half up by 5, 9-4. Antelope/Edelweiss came back from half-time and added to their lead to make the score 12-6. Santi Wulff of GFM was the superstar of the 5th and 6th chukker scoring 5 goals. His impressive play was not enough to close the gap and Antelope/Edelweiss won 15-12.
Patrick Uretz was named MVP and Martina, played by Santi Trotz won BPP.
The consolation final played between Cotterel/Long Beach and Wildcat was a hard fought match that was fun for spectators to watch. The score remained close throughout the first half of the game, but Cotterel/Long Beach pulled ahead in the second half to win 10-9.
