Bendabout (2-1) handed Barrington (1-1) its first loss of the 20-goal season at the 302 Polo Club and improved its record as play continued in the 2009 USPA Silver Cup Sunday.

Bendabout jumped all over Barrington in the opening chukker, converting four penalty shots and funning up a 5-1 lead.

“We just played them too soft,” said Barrington 7-goaler Tommy Biddle.  “We allowed them to play their game,” added Biddle.

Whislte Uys and Hector Galindo each scored their third goals of the game in the second chukker, with Biddle answering with a lone penalty conversion as Bendabout held a commanding 7-3 advantage.

Biddle and Julio Arellano added single goals for Barrington in the third period but goals from Gillian Johnston, Owen Rinehart and Galindo had Bendabout holding on to a 10-5 halftime lead.

“We just dug too deep a hole for ourselves in the first half,” said Biddle.  “We had our chances,” he added.

Arellano scored on two penalty conversions and Antonio Galvan added a goal from the field in the fourth chukker with Rinehart responding with a single goal for Bendabout.  Barrington trailed 11-8.

Galvan and Arellano added single goals in the fifth chukker while Bendabout got two goals from Rinehart and another goal from Uys for a four goal lead, 14-10, to end the period.

Galvan added a goal in the final chukker with Arellano converting a penalty shot for the final goal of the game as Bendabout took the contest 14-12.

Julio Arellano led all scoring with six chukkers.  Galvan scored three times and Biddle added two goals in the loss.  Barrington received one goal by handicap.

Rinehart led Bendabout with five goals.  Uys and Galindo scored four times apiece and Johnston added a goal.
