Wednesday began with the opening games in the Silver Cup Low Goal with Bronze Cup winners Huntsman (Aristide Faggionato, Dillon Bacon, Felipe Gomez and Ivan Maldonado) meeting Bayswater (Pablo Mora, Francisco G. Melero, Segundo F. Llorente and Ramon Beca) who they had previously beaten in the Bronze Cup league match which was their first meeting on Spanish soil.  Once again Bayswater were not to be successful against Huntsman, who truly hunted down their 12 goals, winning the game 7 goals ahead of Bayswater’s 5.  Running concurrently on another Sotogrande pitch, Valdeparras-Marques de Torneros took the lead in a much closer game with a final score against Shakib Polo 7-5.  In the following match, Silex, who were only just beaten by Huntsman in the Final of the Bronze Cup, won their game by one goal (8-7) against Sardanola.

Later in the day in the High Goal, Victor Vargas’s Lechuza Caracas with the ten goal might of Juan Martin Nero in combination with seven goal Francisco Elizalde and English four goal Matt Perry, having lost on Monday against RH, won their first game 10-9 against Michael Bickford’s La Indiana.

Next up were the Pailloncy brothers in their HB Polo team against the brothers Pieres in Packer’s Ellerston, whilst on another pitch another Pieres, nine goal Nicolas in RH went head to head with Pelon Stirling in Ayala.  It was to be a second successful match for Facundo and Gonzalito with Ellerston finishing ahead by a strong 13 goals to HB’s 8, but it was not such a success story for Nicolas and team RH who lost by 10 goals, giving Ayala (Zobel, Cavanagh, Pelon & Santi Stirling) a 16-6 second Silver Cup league match win.

The High and Low Goal Silver Cup matches continue on Friday.
