The second day of Gold Cup Low Goal began on the pitches of Sotogrande with yet another success for Huntsman at the end of their 11am game against Bayswater.   This time, Huntsman (who like Valiente in the High Goal) are still to lose a match in Spain galloped off the ground 11-6 to Bayswater.  Simultaneously on another Spanish ground Serdenola also had their second Gold Cup match win (haven’t previously also beaten Bayswater in an earlier game) this time 10-8 over Silex.   In the match that followed this at 12:15 it was a happy Valdeparras Marques de Torneros who rode off the pitch with a win (having lost their previous game) against Kazab Shakib.  Gold Cup Low Goal matches will continue on Sunday.

At a slightly later date than originally scheduled Cambiaso lead team Valiente onto Los Pinos III field at 17:30, where Robert Jornayvaz and the two Santiago’s, Laborde and Torres would meet Ayala (Inigo Zobel, Diego Cavanagh and the Stirling brothers, David and Santiago). With both teams having won their first Gold Cup games both were equally as keen to join Ellerston with a second Gold Cup game win.  In the third chukka Ayala were a goal ahead, 3-2, but Valiente were determined not to see their winning streak in Sotogrande blemished, turning the one goal lead to their favour and finishing 11-10.

Later King Power faced HB Polo on Los Pinos II, with King Power keen for their first win in this section and HB Polo looking for a second successful game. By the fifth the teams had drawn level at 7 all, whilst on another ground Lechuza Caracas were 12 up to Royal Salute’s 8.  In the end King Power secured a win 11-10, giving both teams one win one loss to date in the Gold Cup.   At close of play on another ground it was a smiling Lechuza Caracas at the final whistle, who had recovered from their last loss to beat Royal Salute (who are now have two losses to their name) 15-10.  The next High Goal games will be played on Saturday.
