In Saturday’s later High Goal matches beginning at 18:30, James Packer’s Ellerston (Facundo and Gonzalo Pieres and Thomas Brodie) were the first team with three straight wins in the Gold Cup stage beating Los Monjitas 7-6 (albeit in a much lower goal scoring game than their 16 goal winning previous matches) and also the first qualifiers for a Semi Final place.

On Los Pinos I, Charlie Hanbury’s (Mayfair Gallery sponsored) Halcyon Gallery played an outstanding match. Three goals ahead at the final bell they beat finalists in the Silver Cup, Dos Lunas-Banco Espirito Santo 12-9.

In the earlier High Goal game on Los Pinos II, with a final score of 11-10, Ben Soleimani’s RH had their second win, whilst for Michael Bickford’s La Indiana it was their second loss.

With Ellerston’s Semi Final place secured, Halcyon Gallery and RH will now be looking for a spot, to be decided by a penalty shoot-out on Monday.  Meanwhile High Goal action continues on Sunday with six teams competing for further Semi Final places, with HB Polo facing a still as yet undefeated Valiente.
