Tortugas Open – Day 6

At the beginning of the sixth date (third and last of Zone B) of the 85th Tortugas Country Club Open, in which the Emilio de Anchorena Cup is at stake, La Ensenada Clonargen vs. The Hatchet & Polo.

The victory corresponded to the first of those named by 18 to 13, and in this way, they maintain some chance of being finalist of the tournament.

The team led by Jero del Carril – once again a figure and scorer – looked for the victory that would leave them with a chance of being a finalist, from the initial throw-in. And although the boys from LH Cría wanted to achieve their first win of the season – so far they are the only team that did not get a victory in the Triple Crown 2025 – the tandem between Jero and Rufino was too much for the aspirations of the team led by Toly Ulloa, which finally fell again and will now have two weeks to get ready for Palermo.

On the side of La Ensenada, the boys who have not yet had the injured Guillermo “Sapo” Caset, are having a great season and will hope that the result they need on field 7 will be given.

Teams and progression:

La Ensenada Clonargen: Rufino Bensadón 8 (5 goals), Gonzalo Ferrari 8 (2), Juan Britos (h) 8 and Jerónimo del Carril 9 (11, three from penalties, two from corners and one from Penalty 1). Total: 33.

The Hatchet and Polo: Bautista Bayugar 8 (7, five penalties), Carlos M. Ulloa 8 (4), Joaquín Pittaluga 8 (1) and Ignacio Laprida 8 (1). Total: 32.

La Ensenada Clonargen: 0-0, 3-2, 6-4, 10-5, 13-5, 14-7, 17-8 and 18-13.

Yellow Card: Bautista Bayugar (Chukker 3, 6.53).

Judges: Matías Baibiene and Martín Pascual. Arbitrator: José I. Araya.

Second Match

Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufú to the final!

The team of the Pieres and the Heguy did not beat around the bush, they wanted no one to do the math and from the beginning they looked for the victory that would deposit them in the final. With a great team game -Facu Pieres stood out with 8 goals and Cruz Heguy, a wall in defense-, they beat UAE Polo by 14 to 12 (who arrives in Palermo worried, with two consecutive defeats) and in this way, with three wins in as many appearances in the tournament, they qualified for the decisive match of the tournament. in which they will face La Natividad La Dolfina next Saturday 25/10. Great game!
