TEAM STELLA ARTOIS CROWNED CHAMPIONS AT THE SINGAPORE OPEN 2013
Team Stella Artois defeated Team Park Regis Singapore at the Singapore Open 2013. The score was 5 ½ – 5 in the 4-chukka final in the tournament after the 3 days of tournament as both teams continued to the final after 2 days of exciting day of preliminary play on 13 and 15 June.
International polo player, Sebastian Petracchi scored a total of three goals for Team Stella Artois; while Benjamin Araya Jr., Ignacio (Nachi) Alberdi and local polo player, Ameer Jumabhoy contributed five goals respectively for Team Park Regis Singapore.
The tournament final was played at an intense pace in hot weather at the Singapore Polo Club.
The three-day event also featured three other teams: Tata Communications, Piper-Heidsick & USPA (U.S. Polo Assn.) competing in a round-robin format for the title. Tata Communications (3rd Place), followed by USPA (4th Place) and Piper-Heidsieck (5th Place) respectively.
Sebastian Petrachhi of Team Stella Artois, was awarded the Most Valuable Player and the Best Playing Pony was awarded to Pampeana, who is owned by Club Member and President, Iqbal Jumabhoy.

The tournament final was attended by some 300 distinguished guests, including diplomats, sponsors, socialites, members and invited guests who gathered for the excitement of polo. The final commenced with performing the traditional throw-in ceremony by the Vice President of the Club, Mr KP Lee and Honorary Treasurer, Ms Christine Foong.
The spectators were entertained by an elegant Dressage Introduction and Performance put up the Club’s Riding Section and all guests were treated to a generous supply of Piper-Heidsieck champagne, and Stella Artois Beer as well as canapés in the afternoon.
