A Special Year for Piaget and Polo at the Fifth Annual Piaget Hamptons Cup

For the fifth year in a row, Piaget celebrated the thrilling sport of polo at the Equuleus Polo Club where the 2016 Piaget Hamptons Cup took place on Sunday. Polo patrons and event co-chairs Joe and Diana DiMenna along with polo superstar, Nacho Figueras, hosted an exhibition match alongside the Maison to benefit Robin Hood, New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization. President of Piaget North America, Thomas Bouillonnec, was joined by Piaget ambassador and “Game Changer” actor Michael B. Jordan, and prominent social media figures Marcel Floruss, of One Dapper Street, Brian Sacawa, founder of He Spoke Style, Jenny Bernheim, revered fashion and lifestyle blogger of Margo & Me and her husband, Fred Cipoletti, film producer and photographer, as well as model and social media star, Eric Rutherford, Figueras’ wife Delfina Blaquier, actor and comedian, Jerry Seinfeld and wife Jessica Seinfeld, fashion designer Donna Karan, her daughter Gabby Karan De Felice and son-in law, Gianpaolo De Felice, and Bravo TV star, Sonja Morgan.

Guests were entertained with an exciting match between Team Sponsors Bugatti, featuring Nacho Figueras, Joe DiMenna, Martin Pepa, Mariano Gonzalez, Michael Carrazza and Team Credit Suisse, featuring Stefano Natella, Alainn Bailey, Magoo Laprida, Inaki Laprida and Francisco Ayala. Team Bugatti was the ultimate victor, beating Team Credit Suisse in a 9-7 win. Thomas Bouillonnec presented the winning team with beautifully engraved silver plates and the Piaget Perpetual trophy. Individual accolades were offered to Nacho Figueras who was named Most Valuable Player while the Best Playing Pony award went to Magoo Laprida’s horse, Seaside. Following the match, guests gathered for a traditional Argentine “asado” barbecue and a breathtaking sunset. Over the past five years, the Piaget Hamptons Cup has raised over 2.8 million to help fight poverty in New York.

This is a particularly appropriate time for the Piaget Hamptons Cup as it closely follows the recent launch of the new Piaget Polo S. The stainless steel timepiece collection is comprised of three automatic models available with blue, silvered and slate-gray dials as well as two chronograph models with silvered and blue dials. The collection was prominently featured for guests to admire throughout the afternoon in the Piaget lounge, including the latest jewelry from the Extremely Piaget Medium and Rose collections and timepieces from the Altiplano and Limelight Stella line. Guests also enjoyed experiencing Piaget’s 360° virtual reality polo experience that allowed attendees to play polo through the eyes of a professional polo player.

With the launch of the Piaget Polo S and yet another successful sponsorship of the Piaget Hamptons Cup, Piaget continues its legacy of celebrating the masculine and sophisticated sport of polo, which began with the introduction of the Piaget Polo timepiece in 1979.
