After the great polo season of Alto Handicap, in which La Natividad La Dolfina achieved the AAP Triple Crown after being crowned champion of the 132nd Argentine Polo Galicia Open presented by Visa, the 85th Tortugas Country Club Open and the 132nd Hurlingham Club Open; handicap modifications were made, in which the most important were the increase from 8 to 9 of Antonio Heguy, polo player of Ellerstina Indios Chapalefú Vista, runner-up in Tortugas and Palermo; and the down from 10 to 9 of Juan M. Nero, a player who participated in the UAE Polo team.

 

Other of the most important increases were those of Lorenzo Chavanne, Lucas Criado (h), Paco de Narváez, Beltrán Laulhé and Felipe Vercellino, from 7 to 8; and those of Louis Hine, Kristos Magrini, José Riglos (n) and Ignacio Viana, from 6 to 7.

 

For their part, in addition to that of “Juanma” Nero, among the most significant casualties are those of Jerónimo del Carril and Ignatius du Plessis, with a handicap of 9 to 8 goals; and those of Rodrigo Ribeiro de Andrade and Alejo Taranco, from 8 to 7.

 

The modifications will be effective as of January 1, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Directors at the meeting on Wednesday, 12/10, chaired by Benjamín Araya.

WOMEN’S HANDICAPS

The AAP Board of Directors also established the modifications in the valuations of 49 players (48 increases and 1 decrease), which will be effective as of January 1, 2026, after what was resolved in March 2010, where an exclusive handicap for women was established only to be used in women’s tournaments.

 

The most important rises belong to the champion of the IX Women’s Open, La Dolfina, since Mía Cambiaso ascended from 9 to 10; and Catalina Lavinia was promoted from 8 to 9. Meanwhile, Maitena Marré and Elena Venot, rose from 7 to 8; Micaela Saracco, from 6 to 7; and finally, Pearl Venot, Juana Deramo and Clara Malén Trino Ruano, from 5 to 6.

The only casualty and very transcendental is that of the British Nina Clarkin, who dropped from 9 to 8.

Finally, it was decided to modify the valuation of 11 amateur players, of which 6 correspond to increases and 5 to decreases.
